Saw a huge difference after switching to a polypropylene brush head on my rods

I swapped out my old steel wire brush for a polypropylene one last month on a job in an old Victorian house and the soot came off way cleaner with half the passes. Has anyone else noticed a big change switching brush materials on different flue types?

lol polypropylene brushes are the secret sauce nobody talks about. I almost feel like a traitor to my steel wire brush now.

secret sauce nobody talks about" is spot on lol. I swapped to polypropylene for cleaning my drum sander and it actually pulled the grain way better without gouging the wood. Steel wire always left those little scratches I had to sand out later.

Polypropylene brushes are the only thing that actually cleaned my drum sander without shredding the grit pattern.
