Just realized a better brush for metal flue liners

I was cleaning a stainless steel liner packed with hard creosote last month. My old brush just smeared it around and made a mess. On a hunch, I tried a spiral brush with stiff bristles, and it scraped everything off clean. Now I match the brush to the liner material every time. It makes the job way easier and the results are much better.

So you spent how long just smearing gunk around before figuring that out? That old brush sounds like trying to clean your car with a toothbrush.

Hold up, did you just say a toothbrush? That mental image is killing me. Imagine trying to scrub an entire car hood with one of those little things. You'd be there for a week just on the wheels. It really makes you realize how awful that old brush must have been to even get compared to that.
