I warned a client about their discount underpad and now it's falling apart
Recently, a client brought in a thin underpad they got on sale. I mean, I told them right away it would not support the carpet well. Sure enough, they phoned me today because the fibers are crushing down where people walk a lot. Maybe it's just me, but going cheap on the pad always leads to trouble.

Did they give any reason for choosing that pad? Or are they just blaming you now?

Have you ever had someone point fingers without giving you the full story? I remember once my friend picked a movie for movie night and everyone hated it, but no one said why they chose it until after they blamed her for a boring evening. It turned out the person who suggested the list had already seen all the other options, but they never told her that part. She felt pretty awful because the blame came before any explanation. It's frustrating when people skip the reasons and go straight to blaming, you know? Makes you wonder if they even had a good reason for their choice in the first place.

Yeah, that "just blaming you now" step is a classic move. Skip the reason, fast forward to fault. It's like a universal script for making simple things messy.
