Unpopular opinion: the guy at the lumber yard who told me 'you can't build cabinets with a circular saw' lit a fire under me
Stopped by the yard in Bakersfield on Saturday to grab some 3/4 birch ply and this older guy behind the counter looks at my cut list and just goes 'you know you can't build cabinets with a circular saw.' Not rude about it, just flat out said it like it was a fact of nature. I've been building shop cabinets and a built-in for my sister's place with a circular saw and a homemade straight edge jig for about 8 months. Made me second guess everything for a second. Then I got home and looked at the two cabinets sitting in my garage that are square and flush and the doors close right. I'm not saying a table saw wouldn't be nicer, but telling a guy he can't do something he's already done is wild. Anybody else get this from the old timers at the yard, or is it just mine?
