Dropped my circ saw on a scrap pile and the guard jammed, here is the 10 second fix that saved my cut list
Cutting 2x8 rafters for a job in Reno last month, my old Skil saw took a tumble off the sawhorse onto some offcuts and the lower guard locked up tight against the housing. I almost drove to the store for a new one, but a guy on the crew told me to flip it over and work the guard lever while blasting the pivot with WD-40, and it popped loose after about 10 seconds of wiggling. Saved me $130 and a trip across town. Anyone else got a trick for keeping those guards from gunking up when you cut wet lumber?
