That $50 camp pillow was a total waste of money

I spent $50 on a fancy inflatable camp pillow for a 3 day trip in the Smokies and my neck hurt so bad I couldn't sleep a single night. My buddy just used a rolled up hoodie and slept way better than me. Anyone else find that expensive camp pillows are just a gimmick?

Was it the pillow itself or did you just not get it inflated to the right firmness? Sometimes those things need way more air than you think to actually support your neck.

Wait, did you actually try one of these for more than a couple nights? I see what you're saying about the inflation thing, @jordan_young, but honestly, even when I overfilled mine it still felt like my head was just floating on a balloon. The problem is the material itself can't hold its shape well enough, so it never really locks in like a memory foam or buckwheat pillow does. I tried different firmness levels for a week straight and it just kept shifting under my head while I slept. With a regular pillow, once you find the right one it just stays put, but these inflatable ones always feel like they're slipping away.
