Showerthought: I've repaired over 700 shutters this year alone
Was counting up my logs last night and realized I've hit 715 shutter repairs since January. Anyone else keep track of their numbers like that or am I just being weird about it?

Everything's breaking faster these days. Nobody builds stuff to last anymore.

@james_singh7 is that really true though or are we just buying cheaper stuff now? There's a big difference between a $50 toaster and a $200 one, people just don't pay for quality anymore. You get what you pay for in most cases.

Nah @terry_lewis21 I gotta push back on that... I bought a $40 toaster five years ago and it still works perfect. My buddy spent $180 on some fancy one with all the bells and whistles and it crapped out in two years. The truth is you're paying for looks and brand name half the time, not actual build quality. Stuff like microwaves and blenders are pretty simple inside, the cheap ones last just as long if you don't drop them or whatever. Sometimes paying more just means you're buying into hype, not durability.
