Serious question, is recalibrating a old Nikkor lens worth the hassle or should I just toss it?

I dropped a 50mm f/1.4 AI-S on a job site in Tucson two weeks ago, it landed lens-first on a pile of rebar and now the focus ring is grinding and the aperture blades are sticking, but I can't decide if I should spend the $120 to get it serviced or just buy a used replacement for the same price - anyone else had to make this call with vintage glass?

Paid to have a 35mm f/2 AI-s serviced last year for the same issue. Focus ring came back smooth and the aperture clicks like new, definitely worth it if the glass is clean and the barrel is straight. Check the lens for any dents or scratches in the metal mount first though, because that can mean internal damage that $120 won't fix.

$120 is a lot for a lens I paid $150 for used.

Yeah I've heard good things about @mary776's advice on this. A clean lens is worth saving.
