I went to a chiropractor my lawyer recommended and my back got worse
My lawyer set me up with a chiro in San Jose who did these aggressive adjustments. After 4 sessions my lower back pain actually flared up worse than before. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a referral from their workers comp attorney?

I totally get this. I heard a story from a guy at my gym who went to a workers comp chiro and ended up with a herniated disc from the "adjustments." It's scary how common this is. I think some chiropractors, especially ones tied to lawyers, just crank on people without looking at the actual injury or doing any real soft tissue work first. Your back flaring up after 4 sessions is a huge red flag, not something you should push through. Did you stop going or switch to a physical therapist instead?

Is there a name for that kind of aggressive chiro work? It sounds like they're basically just cranking on people without any kind of warmup or muscle prep, which seems backwards. I've heard the good ones do soft tissue stuff first to loosen things up before any cracking.
