I finally stopped mailing my workers comp paperwork and started uploading it online, and the difference is night and day
For about 2 years after my back injury at the warehouse in Fresno, I did everything the old way. Printed forms, signed them, paid $8 to mail them certified, then waited 3 to 4 weeks for any kind of reply from the claims office. Half the time they claimed they never got it, so I had to send it all over again. My sister works at a clinic and she kept bugging me to just make an account on the EAMS site and upload everything as a PDF. I fought her on it because I figured the state system would be a mess. But once I tried it, I got a confirmation number the same day and a response in under a week. Now I scan everything and upload it, and I keep a folder of screenshots too. Part of me wonders if the paper trail is still safer, since a paper letter is harder to lose in a computer glitch. So which side are you on, do you still mail everything certified or have you gone fully online with your claim paperwork?
