Why does nobody talk about fiber splitters going bad in the rain?
Last week in Portland I had three service calls where brand new splitters failed after a single heavy rain because the waterproof seals weren't actually sealed from the factory, has anyone else dealt with that yet?

Yeah it's the same thing with a lot of stuff now. Cheap manufacturing cuts corners and we all have to deal with it.

People act like the world's ending over a slightly janky zipper.

@vera_murphy's right about the cheap manufacturing thing... it's not just splitters either. My neighbor bought a brand new rain jacket last month, first time wearing it in a drizzle and the "waterproof" zipper lets water right through the seam. Everything's got these fake seals now that look good on the shelf but fall apart the second they meet real weather. Makes you wonder if they even test this stuff before shipping it out.
