Just came from a new build in Fresno and I'm starting to worry

I was running cables in a brand new housing development out in Fresno yesterday and something really bugged me. Every single house had the low voltage boxes already installed by the framing crew, but they put them in the dumbest spots possible. One living room had the box sitting 6 inches above the floor behind where a couch has to go. Another room the hole was drilled through a stud but they left it wide open with no grommet. I asked the foreman about it and he just shrugged and said 'the homeowner will figure it out.' This is happening more and more where builders are cutting corners to save a buck and leaving installers to clean up the mess. Has anyone else noticed this trend with new construction crews not caring where they put the rough-in boxes?

I used to think new builds were a safe bet because everything is fresh and clean, but stories like this really changed my mind. The foreman's attitude about leaving a mess for the homeowner is exactly the kind of corner-cutting that turns a dream house into a headache. Have you run into any other wiring shortcuts that made you question the build quality?

Oh man, @elizabethtaylor, you're spot on. I once found they'd wired a light switch backwards in my own place, took me an embarrassing hour of flipping it before I realized I wasn't the idiot. In my experience, shortcuts like using the wrong gauge wire for outlets just scream "pay attention now or cry later.
