Soft-close hinges made me rethink cheap hardware forever

I used to buy the cheapest euro hinges from the big box store, figured a hinge is a hinge. Last month I subcontracted a kitchen job in Charlotte and the homeowner supplied Blum hinges, I laughed at the cost until I installed them. The difference in smoothness and adjustment range was wild, the door aligned perfect in under 5 minutes. Now I check the spec sheet before I bid any job, has anyone else had a brand that changed how they quote hardware?
