We're considering Meadowlark Log Homes for a small cabin in the Smokies. Has anyone here bought a kit from them? How was the build process, and did the final cost stay close to the quote? Any hidden issues?

Log InYes! We built a 1,200 sq ft cabin with their kit two years ago. The logs were pre-cut perfectly and the instructions were clear. Our contractor had no problems. Final cost was about 5% over due to some site prep we didn't anticipate, but nothing from their end. Would recommend.
I toured their factory in Idaho. Very professional operation. They use kiln-dried logs which reduces settling. I didn't end up buying (land deal fell through) but they were patient and helpful throughout the planning.
We're in the middle of a build with them now. Communication has been great, and they delivered on time. One small issue with a missing window sash, but they shipped a replacement quickly. So far so good.
