Vent: my $300 work boots fell apart at the 4 month mark

I bought these supposedly rugged boots from a big outdoor store back in March for a warehouse job in Cincinnati. The soles started peeling off the toe box around week 10, not from heavy wear either, just normal walking on concrete. By month 4 the stitching on the left heel totally let go and I nearly rolled my ankle during a shift. Store said warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not normal use, which felt like a slap. I went back to my old pair of $80 steel toes from a farm supply place, they are at year 3 now and still solid. Anyone else had expensive boots die fast while the cheap ones keep going? What brand actually holds up for you?
