Bought a $12 tube of silicone caulk, then spent 3 weekends chasing a leak that was never the caulk
My shower was dripping into the basement for almost a month, and I kept blaming the drain, so I redid the whole pan seal twice with that cheap tube. Turned out the real leak was a cracked supply line behind the wall in a spot I could not see from above. A plumber in Toledo charged me $180 to find it in about 10 minutes with a little camera on a wire. I felt pretty dumb standing there holding my caulk gun. Anybody else ever fix the wrong thing three times before finding the actual problem?
