Spent $400 on a new scabbard sharpener for the shop
It felt like a big expense at the time, but the edge it puts on our boning knives is so consistent it's cut our sharpening time in half. Has anyone else moved to a dedicated machine for their main blades, or do you still stick with stones?

Yeah, the speed thing is real. I mean, I got a basic one for my chef's knife and my main paring knife. It just does the same angle every single time, no guesswork. I still use a stone for my nicer stuff, but for the daily drivers it's a total game changer. Saves so much time on a busy day.

Totally get that. I grabbed a basic pull through sharpener a few years back for my most used knives. It keeps them plenty sharp for all the prep work without any fuss. I still give my good knives the stone treatment on the weekend, but for a quick touch up on a Wednesday night, that little gadget is a lifesaver. It just removes the whole mental block of having to set up the stones when you're already tired.
