Found a way to keep my bandsaw blade tracking straight
I was having trouble with my bandsaw blade wandering on pork shoulders and hams. Tried adjusting the tension and guide bearings for weeks but it kept slipping. Finally I took a close look at the wheels and noticed a buildup of fat and bone dust on the rubber tires. Scrub them down with hot water and a stiff brush after every shift and the blade stays right where it should. Cost me zero dollars and saved a ton of frustration. Anyone else deal with this or do you just replace tires more often?

Buddy of mine runs a BBQ spot and had the same issue with his big saw. He was ready to drop a few hundred on new tires until I told him to just scrub them down. He called me back the next day pissed off because his blade tracked perfect after a twenty minute cleaning. He said the buildup had gotten so bad he could see a visible ridge on the rubber. Now he keeps a bucket of hot soapy water by the saw and hits the wheels with a brush between jobs. Cost him nothing and solved the problem.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I finally broke down and cleaned my wheels last week after my blade kept wandering like a toddler in a candy store. Now I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
