Paid $200 for a permit expediter, city still made me wait 8 weeks

I figured shelling out for an expediter in Charlotte would skip the line, but the city just sat on the paperwork anyway and gave me the same inspection window. Has anyone else found these services are basically just a paper shuffler with a fancy invoice?

Ask my buddy who paid double and still failed inspection twice.

Man, tell me about it. My buddy thought he was being smart by going with the priciest guy in town, figured you get what you pay for. Ended up having to tear out half the work and redo it anyway. The city inspector basically laughed at him when he showed up for the second look. Sometimes the expensive option just means you overpaid for the same garbage.
