Vent: dropped $140 on a chest freezer in March and it's paying for itself
I used to grab whatever was on sale each week, but now I buy a half cow from a farm outside of town and freeze it all. The freezer cost $140 and the beef runs me about $4.50 a pound, which beats the $7 I was paying at the store. The catch is I had to learn to thaw things the night before, which took some getting used to. Anybody else buy meat in bulk and actually stick with it?
