My barber in Austin told me to stop buying coffee for a month and put the cash in a jar.

I did it, saved $87, and now I just make a pot at home before I leave.

Tried that once and ended up with a jar of cash and a caffeine headache for a week. My homemade stuff tasted like muddy water. Still, saving that much money almost made the bad coffee worth it.

Honestly that "muddy water" taste is so real. Did you try a french press or just a regular drip machine? I had the same problem until I started weighing the beans instead of just scooping them. Made a gross cup every time before that.

My old drip machine made coffee that tasted like actual dirt water for a solid year. I was too stubborn to buy a scale because how hard could it be, right? Turns out, very hard. My scoops were all over the place and I just accepted the punishment. Weighing the beans felt like a dumb extra step until my coffee stopped tasting like a puddle. Why do we fight the simple fixes that actually work?
