That guilt trip from your own notes is so real. Seeing a dumb purchase written down makes it feel permanent instead of just a quick swipe. My list from last trip was full of overpriced airport food and rideshares I could have walked. It turns into this little voice in your head for the next trip asking if you really need the thing. The list stops being just numbers and becomes a record of every choice you let slide. Makes you way more careful before adding another line to it.

Honestly, writing it down forces me to face the guilt. I'd just swipe my card for a 10 dollar airport coffee and forget it. Seeing "coffee - $10" in my notes the next day makes me cringe. That shame alone stops me from making the same dumb choice next trip. It's less about the math and more about holding myself accountable for every lazy purchase.

Writing things down makes you more conscious about where your money goes. I used to blow cash on stupid stuff until I started logging every buy. Now I check my notes before spending and it saves me from bad buys.
