I miss the simplicity of writing everything down. These days, half my spending alerts are for subscriptions I forgot to cancel. Switching to a basic spreadsheet saved me a headache and some cash.

That's part of a bigger trend where simple tools get turned into complicated products. My old flashlight had one button, now the app for my smart bulb needs an update every week. We're solving problems that didn't exist before and calling it progress.
