My coworker told me I'm wasting money on jarred sauce

I was heating up some pasta at work last week and my coworker Jenna saw me pouring Prego on it. She said I could make my own sauce for half the cost with canned tomatoes and some garlic. I kinda laughed it off but then I did the math and she's right, a $2 can of tomatoes makes way more sauce than a $4 jar. Anyone else switch to homemade and find it actually saves money in the long run?

Understand that point of view, but I see it a little differently. To me, time spent on something you enjoy or find meaningful isn't wasted just because it's not making money. The value of time isn't always measured in dollars, sometimes it's about peace of mind.
