TIL my neighbor's comment about my weekly grocery run changed how I budget
I'm a budget buyer through and through, but my neighbor Linda said I was wasting money buying fresh veggies at the big chain store every week. She told me to try the farmers market on 5th Street for $2 less per pound. Now I only go to the chain store for non-perishables and I'm saving about $30 a month. Anyone else had someone call out a habit that actually saved you cash?

Yeah that's a really good point actually. I feel like I've been in that spot before where someone tells me something is cheaper and I just go with it without double checking. Like my friend swore this one bulk store had way better deals on chicken but when I actually looked it was pretty much the same price per pound, just in bigger packages. I think a lot of people just trust what neighbors say cause they seem confident about it. Makes total sense to wanna verify before you change up your whole routine. Glad it worked out for OP though, saving $30 a month is no joke.

Wait, hold up - did you actually CHECK the prices before switching or did you just take Linda's word for it? I ask cause I've seen some farmers markets that are MORE expensive for certain stuff like lettuce and tomatoes depending on the season. Just wondering if you did a side by side comparison before you fully committed.
