Shoutout to the guy at the flea market who showed me how to test a $15 multimeter before buying it

I was about to walk away from his table thinking all cheap tools were junk, but he spent 5 minutes showing me how to check the battery and fuses, which saved me from buying a total dud and changed my whole approach to flea market electronics.
