Serious question, has anyone else had a day where every single cheap fix backfired?

Last Wednesday I tried to patch a small hole in my drywall with a $2 spackle from the dollar store. It crumbled off after 3 hours. Then I used a discount super glue to fix a loose shoe sole and ended up with my fingers stuck together for 20 minutes. Finally, I tried a 50 cent drain snake and it snapped off inside the pipe. I spent $12 on proper supplies the next day and fixed everything in under an hour. Has anyone else had a run of bad luck trying to save a few bucks?

my buddy tried to fix his leaky faucet with a 99 cent o-ring and ended up flooding his bathroom so bad his downstairs neighbor's ceiling collapsed. he said he sat there with towels everywhere just staring at the water damage, knowing he should've just called a plumber from the start. by the time he paid for the drywall repair he wished he'd spent the $60 on a pro, lol.

Wait, was it a universal o-ring or the specific one for his faucet model?

Real talk though, your buddy probably saved like $5 over the years on that cheap o-ring before it gave out. Sometimes paying a little extra upfront for the good stuff is cheaper in the long run, lol.
