Back in 2018 I had to pick between a used Honda Fit and a used Toyota Yaris
Went with the Fit because it had more cargo space. Ended up hauling a full couch in there one time, barely fit but it worked. The Yaris would have been cheaper to insure though. 4 years later the AC compressor died on the Fit, cost me $800 to fix. Ever since I've wondered if the Yaris would have been more reliable long term. Anyone else make a similar small car choice and regret or not regret it?

Oh man I went with the Fit too and honestly I still think it was the right call. That cargo space saved me more times than I can count with my family's stuff.

That bit about wind handling got me thinking. People compare reliability and space but nobody talks about how each car handles differently in bad weather. The Fit might cost more to fix but it could keep you safer on the highway.
Having the cargo room for a whole couch once made up for that AC bill in my book though.

Bought a Yaris in 2019 and the AC never gave me trouble, but the seats were brutal on long drives. My buddy had the Fit and we swapped cars for a weekend road trip. His Fit handled highway wind way better than my Yaris did. My Yaris felt like a sailboat in a crosswind. Funny how one car can be a pain in a different way than the other.
