Am I the only one who thinks a $50 electric kettle can beat a $200 one for daily use?
I bought a cheap $50 electric kettle from Target last month to replace my old $200 Cuisinart one that died. The cheap one boils water just as fast and has a simple on/off switch, no fancy settings. But the lid is flimsy and water leaks a bit when pouring. So did I save $150 or just buy a headache? Has anyone else gone budget on a kitchen gadget and regretted it or been surprised?

In my experience the $50 kettles work fine until the lid breaks or the base starts rusting, then you're buying another one in a year. @clairem47 glad it worked out for you but I'd rather spend a bit more on something that doesn't leak when I'm half asleep pouring my morning coffee.
