That $47 essential oil diffuser I bought on impulse at a kiosk in the mall smoked up my whole living room in under 20 minutes

I plugged it in, added the fancy lavender oil, and within 15 minutes the thing started hissing like a kettle and spewing gray smoke everywhere, so if anyone has a recommendation for a diffuser that actually works and doesn't double as a fire hazard, I'm all ears.

Bet that kiosk was one of those pop-up ones that disappears when stuff goes wrong. Check the wattage rating before buying anything next time, cheap ones always overload fast.

Mall kiosk stuff is actually built better than you think, user error is almost always the problem here.

Was the diffuser one of those little plastic ones with the metal plate inside? Those are notorious for shorting out if you don't clean the water buildup off the plate first.
