Telling my sister her pie was dry changed our whole holiday dynamic

At Thanksgiving in Tucson she asked for brutal honesty, so I said the crust needed 4 more minutes and she cried, but then she asked me to taste her recipes all week, has anyone else found that the truth bombs land way better when the person literally requests them first?
