Saw a 1930s brick wall in Philly that put my work to shame

Walked past a row home renovation in Fishtown last week. The old brickwork behind the siding was still tight, no cracks, perfect lines. My crew can lay a straight wall but that stuff was done by hand, no lasers, no levels with digital readouts. Makes me wonder what we lost when we traded those old timers for speed. You guys ever see old work like that and just stop and stare for a few minutes?

The old timers thing hit me hard, used to think newer was better but that brick proves I was wrong.
