Ngl, I see so many new binders skipping pasting out their endpapers properly
Had a guy last month drop off a book he'd just finished and the endpapers were already starting to bubble up because he just glued them dry without any paste. Why would you skip a step that literally keeps the whole thing from falling apart in 6 months?

Can't believe someone actually glued endpapers dry. That's like skipping the primer on a painting and wondering why the paint peels off. A few minutes of paste saves you a whole rebuild later.

Oh man, that drives me crazy too. Skipping paste on endpapers is like building a house on a sand foundation, it's just asking for trouble. The whole point of paste is to let the paper move and settle as the glue dries, so it doesn't pucker or bubble up later. If you just glue them dry, you're basically trapping all the moisture and tension right there, and it's only a matter of months before you see those ugly air pockets. I've seen people blame the materials when that happens, but nine times out of ten it's just rushing the process. What's the rush anyway, spending five extra minutes now saves you a whole redo later, right?
