The 1843 edition of Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle had a typo that changed a whole chapter
I was flipping through a reprint my book club picked for our natural history month and noticed the ship's log had 'fossils' spelled as 'fosils' in three spots. Turns out the original printer mixed up pages 112 and 209, so half the club read the chapters out of order. Has anyone else found a printing error that accidentally improved or ruined the story?

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I bought a used copy of Moby Dick and the whole chapter about whales was printed upside down. I spent a solid hour twisting my neck around like a confused owl before my roommate pointed it out. Honestly, the accidental chaos made the book more memorable than the actual story, so maybe we should thank the printers for their creative mistakes.
