My book club pick fell apart after one chapter, but the chaos saved us
Last Tuesday I chose a dense historical novel for our group of 9 in Austin, and by page 40 three people admitted they skimmed it, so we ditched the discussion guide and just argued about what the characters would do in 2025. Has anyone else had a pick fail so badly it turned into the best meeting you've had?

Ditching the guide was the smartest move. Sometimes the best talks come from the book being a dud.
