Finally cracked Chapter 11 of Ulysses at the library yesterday

I've been stuck on that chapter for 3 months. Tried reading it at home, coffee shops, even the park. Nothing clicked. Then I sat in the quiet section of the downtown library for 2 hours. Zero distractions. Got through 15 pages in one go. The silence forced my brain to actually focus. Has anyone else found a weird location that changed how you read?

...the quiet section of the library is totally the move. I read half of Blood Meridian in a bus station once. The background noise faded away and I was just in the book. It's like your brain needs that specific kind of silence to let the story in. Ulysses probably needs that more than most books.

Half of Blood Meridian in a bus station" - were you actually able to follow it or just soaking in the vibe?

Yeah @drew965 nailed it, libraries force your brain to sync with the page in a way home distractions can't.
