Digital audiobook vs physical copy, our club split right down the middle
Our book club in Portland tried something different last month. We read the same mystery novel, but half of us listened to the audiobook on Spotify and the other half read the paperback. The split was pretty obvious at our meeting. Those who listened kept quoting the narrator's tone and pacing as a big deal. The paper readers caught details in the text that got lost in the audio version, like a clue hidden in a chapter title. I was in the audiobook camp and honestly missed two characters who had similar names. The paper folks had a much easier time flipping back and forth to track them. It made me wonder if we should pick our format based on the book type, not just personal preference. Has anyone else had a club debate that ended up being more about the format than the story itself?

Actually the clue was in the chapter title for us too, we just heard it read out loud and caught it that way.
