Am I the only one who thinks picking a book by page count beats picking by the back cover
Back in 2019 my club in Reno picked a 500 page book off the cover blurb and half of us quit by chapter 4. Now we check the length first and our finish rate went through the roof, so how do you all screen picks?
Our Boise group had the same mess with a 480 pager everyone hated, lost half the room by week two. Now we do a hard cut at 350 pages unless it's a known author, hasn't failed us yet.
