One harsh review made me change how I teach new players
Someone at my local game cafe in Portland told me my 20 minute rules explanation was killing the mood, so now I do a 2 minute setup demo and start playing with open hands for the first round. Has anyone else tried letting folks make mistakes early instead of front-loading every rule?
Man, this is just how learning works everywhere right? Nobody reads the whole manual before they touch the thing, you just poke at it and figure it out as you go. Same reason I never read the IKEA instructions until I'm already three screws deep and confused.
