He said nobody lasts their first winter away from home and honestly I almost proved him right in week 3. For anyone who moved somewhere cold and alone, how long did it take before it stopped feeling like a mistake?

My first winter in Minneapolis I cried in a grocery store parking lot because I couldn't find my car under the snow. It got better around month four, right about when I stopped checking the weather like it owed me an apology.
