My neighbor's moving truck trick cut our packing time in half

When we helped my sister move out of her apartment in Reno last month, I noticed her friends were taping boxes shut before filling them. Total backwards approach. We ended up packing the bottoms first, filling each box to the top, then taping and stacking. That simple switch saved us about 3 hours across 40 boxes. Has anyone else found a counterintuitive moving hack that sped things up?

Taping boxes shut before filling them is wild, I would've just assumed the boxes were broken and started a fresh pile. My own move hack is labeling nothing and just guessing what's in each box by shaking it, which is why I once unpacked a box of winter coats thinking it was kitchen stuff. Actually the real hack is hiring friends who are too polite to say no, but I'm pretty sure that just cuts MY work time in half and doubles theirs. What's the weirdest thing you've found in an unlabeled box?
