Changing my address took 3 months because of one tiny form
Moved to a new place in Austin back in September and thought updating my license, bank, and utilities would be a weekend thing. Nope. The DMV had a form that needed a stamp from my old county's tax office, and that office took 6 weeks to mail it back. By the time everything was sorted, I'd paid two late fees on a cable bill that never got the memo. Has anyone else had one dumb document stall their whole move-in process?

Three months seems like a long time for one form. When I moved two years ago the post office just forwarded everything and I updated the bank online in ten minutes. The DMV wanted a utility bill with my new address which I had already, so that was easy too. Maybe the county stamp thing is a Texas rule but six weeks for mail seems slow even for a government office. A phone call or a fax might have sped that part up instead of waiting on the mail.
