That one Wednesday last month where nothing went right on the bench

I had three repairs lined up for Wednesday morning. First bike had a seized seatpost that I fought for an hour with penetrating oil and a pipe wrench before it broke loose. Then a customer dropped off a carbon frame with a cracked chainstay that I had to turn away because I don't do carbon repairs. The real kicker was a commuter bike where the bottom bracket threads were stripped on both sides. I spent 45 minutes just chasing the threads with a tap and still couldn't save it. To top it off, my truing stand fell off the bench and bent the indicator arm. Has anyone else had a day where it feels like the shop is working against you?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul! My worst day involved a simple brake pad swap that turned into a three-hour ordeal because a bolt was cross-threaded from the factory and I ended up stripping the whole caliper mount. Then I knocked over a cup of coffee that wasn't even mine and it soaked the only torque wrench I trust. By 4pm I just stood there staring at a pile of handlebar tape thinking maybe I should become a baker instead. It's like the bikes all get together the night before and plan their revenge.

Oh wow, @rowanellis has a point about those bikes plotting against us.
