That 500th wheel true finally clicked for me
I hit 500 wheels trued last Tuesday, and the weird thing is wheel #499 was the one that made it all make sense. I had this old touring rim that kept pulling to the right no matter how many times I tensioned the spokes. Turns out I was always starting with the valve hole spot, but the rim had a tiny weld flaw 3 nipples over, so my baseline was off. Once I marked that spot and treated it as the starting point, it took me 8 minutes instead of 40. Has anyone else had a specific number like that where the routine suddenly felt automatic, or was it a different jolt that made it click for you?

Notice how finding that bad weld is basically the same thing as when you finally learn someone's name and suddenly you can have a conversation with them. Same deal with my fish tank. I fought with cloudy water for months, cleaned everything twice a week. Then I realized my filter was too small for the bioload, just one size up and the whole thing sorted itself in days. The real breakthrough is when you stop fighting the symptom and find the thing that's messing up your starting point. Once that clicks, you're not just faster, you're actually calm about it. It stops being a battle and just becomes a job you do.

Wait, you replaced it with ONE size bigger? That's insane. I've been fighting my own cloudy tank for like three months and just assumed I was overfeeding or something. Never even thought to check if the filter was the actual bottleneck. It's wild how we just accept we're doing something wrong when the equipment is the problem the whole time. @jake_owens you might have just saved my whole setup, I'm gonna check my filter specs tonight. Also the name thing, yeah, that tracks weirdly well.
