Shoutout to the Park Tool BBT-22 for saving me from a seized bottom bracket in a customer's bike yesterday
The old Shimano unit was so stuck I thought I'd strip the splines, but a solid whack with a mallet on the tool finally broke it free. Anyone have a better trick for those really corroded ones?

Honestly, that impact driver trick is a lifesaver. I had a bottom bracket on a 2014 Trek that was basically welded in. Tried the mallet and cheater bar for ages, nothing. Borrowed a neighbor's cordless impact and it buzzed out like it was nothing. Felt like magic after all that sweat.

Man, I used to swear by the old "penetrating oil and wait" method. But after fighting one for like an hour, I grabbed my impact driver on a whim. Zipped that sucker right out in two seconds, no damage. Total game changer for me now.

Totally get that feeling of pure relief. I keep a cheap corded impact in my toolbox just for seized bolts now. Saves so much time and cussing compared to heating things up or using a breaker bar.
