Pro tip: Saw a pro mechanic strip a bottom bracket in 90 seconds flat

I dropped into a shop in Portland last Saturday to grab some chain lube, and one of the guys back there was dealing with a seized BB on an old Fuji. He didn't even reach for the impact gun, just used a long breaker bar and a steady push, popped it loose on the first try. Made me realize how much I rush things at home when I'm trying to fix my own bike. Has anyone else picked up a weird trick just by watching someone else work?

My buddy Dave watched a mechanic in Denver use a pipe wrench on a rusty seatpost that was absolutely stuck. He always thought you needed some fancy tool for that, but the guy just clamped it on and gave it a slow twist. Dave tried it on his old Schwinn the next weekend and swore it popped loose easier than any seatpost puller he'd ever used. Sometimes the simplest stuff is the thing you'd never think of yourself.
