Shoutout to the guy who paid with a $2 bill at my register
Last Friday, a customer handed me a $2 bill for a $1.75 coffee. I had never seen one in real life, so I held it up to the light like we're told to do with big bills. My manager saw me and came over, looked at it for a second, and just said 'yep, that's real.' The customer laughed and said he carries them just to see the reaction. It totally broke the usual rush hour tension. Anyone else get thrown by weird but real money?

That bit about carrying them for the reaction is so real. My buddy who works at a movie theater had a guy pay for a ticket entirely in dollar coins. He said it took forever to count them out, and the line got all backed up, but the guy was just grinning the whole time. It was like a weird, shiny social experiment.

But honestly, that guy sounds like a real jerk for holding up the line like that.

Wait, dollar coins? Who even has those anymore? That guy was definitely doing it just to be a pain.
