PSA: Tap water in my 1998 Buick beats any bottled stuff I've bought

We camped out in Moab last week and that old car's plastic cup holder held a mason jar of motel sink water, which somehow tasted cleaner than the $4 Fiji I grabbed at the gas station. Maybe it's the plastic aftertaste from the bottle, but the free tap won and now I'm questioning every purchase. Anyone else find a weird cheap thing that just outdoes the expensive version?

Heard on a podcast that blind taste tests show most folks pick tap over bottled anyway.
