I spent a year arguing that paper planners were better than digital
Back in 2022 I was one of those people who bought a $40 bullet journal and swore it changed my life. I told everyone at my office in Austin that typing a task into my phone felt wrong somehow. Then I missed three deadlines in one month because I forgot to check my notebook. Now I just use Google Calendar and the only paper I touch is the takeout menu from the Thai place down the street. Anyone else cling to a bad system way longer than they should have?

Had the exact same love affair with a leather bound planner that cost way too much. Felt so organized flipping through those fancy pages but kept missing dentist appointments and work deadlines like clockwork. Switched to a basic app on my phone and suddenly actually showing up on time became way easier than feeling productive while writing things down.

Was the bullet journal actually helping you focus and track things, or was it more of a ritual you just enjoyed doing? I've seen people stick with bad systems because the act of writing felt productive even when it wasn't getting results. Sounds like you figured out the hard way that the tool doesn't matter if you don't use it consistently.
