Showerthought: I just spent a whole weekend defending 'The Room' to my friends
After my buddy called it the worst film ever made, I argued that its total lack of self-awareness and genuine, baffling sincerity make it a perfect artifact of pure, unfiltered creative drive, which is something most polished movies completely lack... anyone else have a 'bad' movie they'll go to bat for?

Ever try to explain why 'Battlefield Earth' is secretly a comedy? I think I lost a friend over that one.

Read a film critic who argued the whole movie works better if you view it as a high budget parody of bad sci fi. The over the top acting and weird camera angles feel intentional when you watch it that way. Honestly, trying to convince someone it's a secret comedy is a lost cause though. Some movies are just bad, and that's the real joke.
